JW Marriott is a distinguished brand within Marriott International's luxury portfolio, encompassing over 100 stunning properties in major gateway cities and unique resort locations worldwide. Renowned for its commitment to exceptional service and unparalleled guest experiences, JW Marriott focuses on creating an environment where associates are valued, supported, and inspired to grow both personally and professionally. The brand emphasizes holistic well-being and fosters a culture of camaraderie among a diverse group of co-workers, reflecting the legacy of J. Willard Marriott, the company’s founder. JW Marriott’s commitment to its associates is encapsulated in its signature approach, The JW Treatment™, which represents a dedication to taking care of their team members as a foundation for delivering outstanding guest service. Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a global team known for innovation, authenticity, and confidence, all within a luxury hospitality setting.

This position is for a full-time, non-management Banquet Coordinator/Host/Hostess role located at the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead, situated at 265 Peachtree Center Ave NE, Atlanta, Georgia. The role is integral to the success of banquet events, serving as the primary liaison between the banquet team and group coordinators to ensure seamless execution of functions. The Banquet Coordinator/Host/Hostess meets with group coordinators or hosts before events to confirm arrangements, ensuring all guest needs and event specifications are addressed. This includes carefully reading and analyzing banquet event orders to gather crucial guest information, determine the proper setup, timeline, and specifics such as buffets and action stations.

The role requires responding to and fulfilling special banquet arrangements and diligently following up to ensure all plans are complied with according to company standards. In addition to delivering exceptional guest service by welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating their needs, and maintaining a professional appearance, the candidate must uphold all company safety and security policies. Ensuring a safe working environment involves reporting any accidents, injuries, or hazards and completing required safety training and certifications.

This role also involves a variety of physical tasks such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance, and navigating narrow or uneven spaces. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to read and verify information, communicate effectively using professional language, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information while protecting the company’s assets. Support for team goals and maintaining positive working relationships within a fast-paced banquet and food service environment are critical aspects of the job.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related work experience, although supervisory experience is not required. This position does not require any licensing or certification. Working within Marriott’s inclusive culture means joining a company committed to equal opportunity employment and fostering an environment where diverse backgrounds and cultures are celebrated and valued.

At JW Marriott, associates are encouraged to be their best selves while developing their careers in a luxury hospitality setting known for quality and excellence. This Banquet Coordinator/Host/Hostess role offers an opportunity to contribute to Marriott’s mission of delivering wonderful hospitality always while working in a supportive, engaging, and dynamic environment where each team member's contributions are essential to creating memorable guest experiences.
