Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace for its associates. As a multinational company with a diversified portfolio of brands, Marriott International prides itself on delivering world-class service and innovative solutions to its clients worldwide. One of its prominent brands, Westin Hotels & Resorts, emphasizes wellness and well-being, ensuring that guests not only enjoy their stay but also leave feeling rejuvenated and balanced. Marriott International's dedication to equal opportunity employment promotes a culture where diversity, respect, and collaboration thrive, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to contribute meaningfully to their teams.

The Meet Group Coordinator/Host(ess) position at Marriott International exemplifies the high service standards and attention to detail that the company is known for. This full-time role involves working closely with event coordinators and guests to ensure seamless execution of banquet and group functions. As the first point of contact for guests attending events, the coordinator/host(ess) plays a vital role in making introductions, confirming arrangements, and addressing any special needs or requests. A critical responsibility of this role is to thoroughly review banquet event orders, extracting essential information to prepare for setup, service timelines, menus including buffets and action stations, and overall guest experience management.

In this role, the coordinator/host(ess) must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhere strictly to company policies—especially safety and security guidelines—and protect company assets. The day-to-day duties include welcoming guests warmly, anticipating their needs, and ensuring a positive interaction that aligns with Marriott’s standards for service excellence. The role requires excellent communication skills to engage effectively with guests, team members, and management, whether in person or via telephone. Additionally, teamwork is essential, as this position supports event staff and contributes to meeting shared goals.

The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and navigating various physical environments such as stairs or uneven surfaces. This makes it important for candidates to have the physical stamina and agility required for sustained activity throughout their shift.

Marriott International values candidates who are passionate about hospitality and wellness, aligning with Westin’s mission of promoting well-being among guests and associates alike. Individuals who take pride in maintaining their personal health, exhibit optimism, and are eager to engage in a dynamic work environment will find this role particularly fulfilling. Joining Marriott’s team means becoming part of a global community dedicated to excellence, growth, and meaningful contributions to the guest experience, ultimately becoming the best version of oneself and thriving professionally in a supportive, inclusive workplace.
