The hotel is currently recruiting an Event Sous Chef to join its Banquet Culinary team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Executive Chef and managing culinary operations specifically related to banquets and events. The Event Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing a designated department, ensuring that all culinary standards meet Hyatt's high-quality brand guidelines. Duties include supervising food preparation and cooking, managing kitchen staff schedules and payroll, developing creative menu items for events, and ensuring food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed. The position also involves coordinating with multiple departments within the hotel to ensure seamless service and excellent guest experiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, possess culinary education or relevant on-the-job training, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties
- Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
- Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
- Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
- Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
- Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
- May manage other key culinary leadership roles including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
- Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
- Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
- Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
- Proficient in general computer knowledge
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
