Job Description
Victory is a faith-based organization committed to fostering a vibrant community through worship, service, and spiritual growth. Known for its welcoming environment and strong dedication to biblical principles, Victory operates various ministries and hosts numerous events that bring together individuals and families for worship, learning, and fellowship. As an established entity within its community, Victory values the contributions of its staff who uphold its mission, vision, and values while contributing to the smooth operation of its facilities and events. Victory’s facilities department plays a crucial role in maintaining the physical environment where these gatherings and activities take place, ensuring that all spaces are properly prepared, maintained, and safe for use by congregants and guests.
The role of Event Set-up Staff at Victory is integral to the success of all scheduled events. This position is specifically focused on the physical aspects of event management, including the setup and teardown of rooms as directed by the Event Set-up Manager. It is important to note that this is not an event planning or coordination role but rather one that supports those functions by ensuring that event spaces are ready and properly configured according to specifications. The Event Set-up Staff oversees the movement and care of all equipment such as tables, chairs, bleachers, and special flooring, ensuring they are stored correctly and handled safely.
In addition to event setup duties, this role involves routine cleaning and maintenance of the facilities to help maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment. The staff member will follow strict safety and hygiene regulations, adhering to all protocols to protect themselves and others. Physical stamina and high energy are essential for this role because it requires lifting up to 50 pounds, navigating tight spaces, and working in various conditions including climate extremes. Effective communication skills and a positive, customer-oriented attitude are necessary to collaborate successfully with the facilities team, supervisors, staff, and volunteers.
Victory emphasizes integrity, confidentiality, and a strong adherence to organizational policies and biblical standards of conduct. Staff members are expected to actively participate in the life of the church, support leadership, and work harmoniously as part of a team. The Event Set-up Staff contributes to this mission through reliable performance of their duties in alignment with the organizational culture and expectations. Reasonable accommodations are made to support qualified individuals with disabilities so they can perform essential functions successfully.
This role is a cornerstone of operational success for Victory’s events. It requires dependable, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in their work and in supporting a team-focused, mission-driven organization. Employees in this position have responsibilities that may evolve and expand, reflecting the dynamic nature of the ministry and its events. As part of Victory’s facilities department, the Event Set-up Staff ensures that every event space is prepared to welcome participants in a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and functional setting, contributing to the overall positive experience of all those who attend.
