Job Requirements

  • Management experience in event services or banquet operations
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency with computer systems related to event management
  • Creativity and high attention to detail
  • Hotel industry background preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience in banquet or event services
  • Energetic and motivational team leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Full time management position requiring full flexibility including weekends and holidays
  • Strong desire to understand and anticipate guest needs in fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Extremely creative, innovative, detail oriented and organized
  • Hotel experience with thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service
  • Previous experience as Event Services Manager, Assistant, Captain or Supervisor preferred
  • High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership
  • Effective communication and strong developer and trainer
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service

Job Duties

  • Support and manage the Events Department while working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments
  • Supervise, empower, lead, coach and motivate the banquet team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants
  • Assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on Meeting Planner surveys
  • Review Banquet Event Orders for thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments
  • Ensure timely and appropriate setup of all functions and meetings maintaining food, beverage and meeting standards
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs
  • Coordinate and execute all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering, Convention Services floor and Beverage departments
  • Maintain high energy, positive, professional appearance
  • Develop innovative and creative décor for banquet function space
  • Manage short and long term banquet functions in front and back of the house
  • Hire, train, develop, promote and continuously reinforce highest standards of quality service
  • Facilitate payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory and budget for food and beverage functions
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs in banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt standards
  • Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
