The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, one of the nation's leading land-grant universities founded in 1794, is renowned for its commitment to shaping tomorrow's leaders, changemakers, and innovative thinkers. Home to more than 38,000 students and 10,000 employees, UT Knoxville prides itself on a strong tradition of leadership, service, and research excellence, boasting the highest Carnegie classification for research activity. The university supports over 900 programs of study across 14 degree-granting colleges and schools, including distinguished partnerships with prominent industry leaders and facilities like Oak Ridge National Laboratory. An employer recognized nationally for its supportive workplace culture, UT Knoxville emphasizes work-life balance, professional development, and inclusivity, earning accolades such as "Best Employer for New Graduates" and "Best Workplace for Women." This role is embedded within the Haslam College of Business, which offers highly ranked master's and Executive Education programs in fields such as supply chain management, business analytics, aerospace and defense, healthcare, and leadership. Known for delivering expert-led curriculum and practical learning experiences, Haslam's initiatives, including non-degree Executive Education programs, empower established professionals to advance their careers and leadership capabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Event Services Manager, the Graduate and Executive Education Events Program Coordinator plays a critical support role in the seamless execution of both degree and non-degree educational programs. This full-time, on-site position based in Knoxville, Tennessee, provides operational and administrative assistance to the Graduate and Executive Education (GEE) Events team while specifically coordinating non-degree program offerings at on-site and off-site venues. Core responsibilities encompass comprehensive event planning and support, vendor relationship management, coordinating logistics for meals, transportation, and classroom setup, as well as ensuring that financial processes around vendor payments are accurate and timely. The coordinator also manages front desk operations, student and faculty relations, and serves as the primary point of contact to guarantee outstanding program delivery and customer experience. The role demands a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic academic environment. Collaborating closely with faculty, program directors, vendors, and internal departments, the coordinator ensures all operational elements—from technology and materials to hospitality and simulation support—are flawlessly executed to maintain Haslam’s reputation for excellence. This position contributes significantly to the success of graduate and executive education programs that prepare professionals to become industry leaders through innovative curriculum and exceptional program management. The role also offers a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse academic and professional community and contribute to the delivery of transformative learning experiences at a top-tier public university.
