Job Description

The University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business is renowned for its highly ranked graduate programs and executive education offerings. As detailed in the U.S. News and World Report 2024 Best Graduate Business Schools specialty rankings, Haslam's Supply Chain Management graduate coursework holds the impressive position of No. 3 among public institutions and No. 4 nationally. Additionally, the Business Analytics graduate coursework made a significant debut at No. 15 among public institutions and No. 38 overall. Haslam's graduate programming emphasizes an exceptional curriculum taught by experienced industry professionals, providing students with both robust academic knowledge and invaluable networking opportunities. This combination equips graduates to advance their careers and emerge as influential leaders within their chosen fields.

Beyond its remarkable degree programs, Haslam offers innovative non-degree Executive Education programs designed to empower business professionals by enhancing their skills and advancing their careers. These programs cover critical topics such as supply chain management, aerospace and defense, healthcare, leadership, and strategy. They are delivered by distinguished instructors who bring expert insights into niche areas of business as well as broader leadership development, preparing professionals to excel in their industries and achieve executive-level success.

Within this esteemed environment, the position of Program Coordinator for Graduate and Executive Education (GEE) Events plays a pivotal role. Reporting directly to the Senior Event Services Manager, this position is essential for supporting the operational and administrative facets of the GEE events team. The role provides robust assistance in coordinating both on-site and off-site events associated with non-degree and degree programs, ensuring seamless event execution and superior customer service.

The Program Coordinator's responsibilities are diverse and comprehensive. On-site, they facilitate program setup, food orders, vendor coordination, and technology arrangements to guarantee that each event proceeds without disruption. Their duties extend to managing classroom preparations, breakdowns, and the logistics for in-class simulations, critical for experiential learning components incorporated within many programs. The coordinator collaborates closely with Program Directors, faculty, vendors, and other support staff to maintain the highest operational standards.

Off-site, this role involves coordination with faculty, students, and institutions to support non-degree program execution that occurs beyond the main campus. The coordinator ensures materials are prepared, registrations are processed, and logistics such as transportation and lodging are managed effectively. This requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex schedules and compliance policies.

Administrative duties include front desk management, greeting guests warmly, handling inquiries via multiple communication channels, managing office supplies, and overseeing student workers by setting priorities and providing coaching. The position also involves engagement with students and faculty, maintaining positive relationships and helping with admissions and travel documentation for specific programs.

Overall, this Program Coordinator role is instrumental in delivering superior educational experiences through detailed program execution, operational excellence, and proactive customer service. The position is based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and supports the university's mission to foster learning and professional development within the dynamic realm of graduate and executive education.
