The Event Service Staff role at Oak View Group is designed to deliver exceptional guest experiences through professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. This seasonal position, which offers an hourly rate ranging from $12.00 to $15.00 plus tips, plays a vital role in ensuring that guests feel welcomed and cared for with attention to detail and high-quality hospitality. Starting on August 10, 2026, and ending on December 10, 2026, this role requires a commitment to upholding service standards in dynamic live event environments and collaborative teamwork with kitchen and event staff.
Event Service Staff responsibilities include reading and comprehending banquet event orders, delivering fine dining level food and beverage service, maintaining friendly and professional interactions with guests, and adeptly managing both food and beverage stations throughout the venue. The staff members are essential to setting up and resetting banquet spaces, ensuring all areas remain tidy, organized, and prepared for subsequent events. They also consistently help maintain a safe, clean work environment and uphold positive guest relations by anticipating and responding to guest needs in real time.
This position requires individuals who can work independently during slower periods and adapt quickly amid the fast-paced demands of live events. The role demands physical stamina, the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and flexibility with work schedules including nights, weekends, and select holidays. Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is strongly preferred
- 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
- Texas Food Handlers certificate required
- TABC certification for alcohol service required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and select holidays
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Job Duties
- Reads and understands banquet event orders
- Provides fine dining level food and beverage service to guests for all events consistent with standards of service
- Initiates and maintains friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met
- Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with standards of service
- Maintain an inventory for both food and beverage stations
- Maintain all event areas and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner
- Participate in both setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items
