Job Description
City Winery is a unique and vibrant hospitality destination that masterfully combines the art of winemaking, live music, and culinary excellence under one roof. Founded in 2008 by music industry visionary Michael Dorf, City Winery has become a celebrated establishment offering a blend of award-winning, locally produced wines, intimate concert experiences, sophisticated dining, and educational food and wine classes. Located in the heart of urban centers, City Winery provides guests with an immersive wine country experience amidst the dynamic energy of the city, drawing a cultured and passionate clientele of food lovers and music enthusiasts alike. The venue is designed to foster community and creativity, positioning itself as a sanctuary where music, gastronomy, and viniculture intersect to deliver unforgettable moments. This establishment prides itself on exceptional hospitality and aims to deliver the highest quality culinary and cultural experience in an inviting and elegant atmosphere.
The role of an Event Server at City Winery is indispensable in fulfilling the establishment’s promise of outstanding guest experiences. Event Servers at City Winery are entrusted with responsibilities that range from greeting and engaging with guests to managing food and beverage service with a keen attention to detail and enthusiasm. This position demands a dynamic individual who can effectively multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining polished presentation and top-tier service standards. Servers contribute significantly to the ambiance, elevating each patron’s visit through personalized service that anticipates guest needs and promotes the City Winery brand and its events.
Event Servers are essential frontline ambassadors who facilitate positive interactions and ensure that guests’ experiences are seamless from entry to departure. Their duties include taking orders with accuracy, serving beverages and beautifully prepared dishes, supporting marketing promotions and special events through upselling, and meticulously maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in workstations and dining areas. They are also responsible for handling payment transactions with integrity following company cash handling procedures.
Additionally, the role requires that servers maintain comprehensive knowledge of City Winery’s brand history, menu items, wine selections, and current event programming to confidently engage with guests and provide insightful recommendations or information. This role values ongoing learning, expecting participation in training sessions, tastings, and meetings to enhance service quality and professional growth. Candidates must be adaptable, prepared to work varied schedules that include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and physically capable of performing duties involving prolonged standing, walking, carrying, and navigating venue spaces under different conditions such as dark or crowded environments.
City Winery is committed to diversity and inclusion, embodying these principles in its hiring practices and workplace culture. It is an equal opportunity employer that embraces a broad spectrum of backgrounds and experiences. Serving at City Winery is not merely a job but a chance to be part of an innovative and inspiring environment where wine, music, and culinary arts converge to create memorable experiences for both guests and team members. This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals who are passionate about exceptional guest service, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and seek to contribute to a forward-thinking hospitality venue that continually redefines live music and dining experiences.
