The position of Event Server at Chevy Chase Country Club is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Event Manager. This role is critical in supporting the seamless execution of events by assisting with setup, breakdown, and providing high-quality food and beverage service to guests attending events. Event Servers are responsible for serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and club policies. This position requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the scheduling needs of various events hosted at the club. An Event Server at Chevy Chase Country Club plays an essential role in maintaining the club’s reputation for excellent service and hospitality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma desired but not necessary
  • Two to three years server experience
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • CPR/AED certification or able to earn within 60 days
  • Must have Safe Food Handler Certification or able to obtain within 60 days
  • Must have TIPS/BASSET certification or able to obtain within 60 days
  • Sufficient mathematical skills to accommodate cashier functions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assists in the set-ups and breakdowns for all events including the clean-up following the conclusion of all events
  • Assembles prepared food and drinks onto trays and transports trays out to be served
  • Serves the table and ensures guest satisfaction by checking before leaving
  • Periodically checks back to replenish water, drinks, bread and butter and removes soiled dishes
  • Provides general service and maintains cleanliness and organization in the dining area
  • Provides constant high guest service and reports any complaints or suggestions to Event Captain or Manager
  • Complies with all laws and policies regarding the sale and disposition of alcoholic beverages
  • Provides immediate attention to guests upon arrival
  • Collects and interprets all paperwork generated for the event
  • Answers guest questions about the event, timeline and food and beverage offerings
  • Assists with buffet set up and take down and replenishes food pans during service
  • Able to interpret event contracts and floor plans
  • Maintains professional appearance with uniforms and name tags
  • Participates in required training and safety programs
  • Supports organizational values and performs other duties as assigned
