Job Description
Patrick Properties has been a cornerstone in the restoration and preservation of historic Charleston properties since 1997. Known for its dedication to maintaining Charleston's architectural heritage, Patrick Properties has managed landmark sites such as Parcel 32, The American Theater, The William Aiken House, and Lowndes Grove. Beyond preservation, the company has cultivated a tradition of warm and inviting hospitality, ensuring that guests feel welcome, well-cared for, and eager to return. With a blend of historic charm and modern service standards, Patrick Properties has established itself as a premier event venue operator in Charleston, focusing on upscale food and beverage services alongside impeccable venue oversight.
The Server position at Patrick Properties plays an integral role in delivering outstanding event experiences. This role supports the company’s mission by contributing to the seamless execution of events, involving attentive food and beverage service that meets the highest standards of professionalism and customer care. The ideal candidate for this position is someone passionate about creating positive, memorable experiences for guests and who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Prior experience in food and beverage service is preferred but not required, as comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided. This is a part-time position requiring availability during nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to accommodate event schedules. Servers at Patrick Properties are expected to maintain proper appearance, exhibit excellent etiquette, and uphold the company’s hospitality standards, contributing to the company's longstanding reputation for excellence.
This role combines the physical demands of setting up and breaking down event spaces with the interpersonal skills necessary for direct guest interaction. Servers must be comfortable lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods, reflecting the active nature of event service work. Furthermore, they play a crucial role in food and beverage presentation and cleanliness, including clearing plates and replenishing stations throughout events. Understanding the specific menus and unique venues managed by Patrick Properties is essential to providing informed service and ensuring guest satisfaction. Responsibilities also include adherence to scheduling requirements aligned with peak and off-peak event seasons, demonstrating reliability and flexibility. Joining Patrick Properties as a Server offers an opportunity to be part of a respected company that values historical significance, hospitality excellence, and team collaboration, providing a platform for personal and professional growth in the hospitality industry.
