The company’s experts bring passion, talent, and resources to create thoughtful environments and thriving businesses that prioritize inclusivity and sustainability. As a socially conscious employer, New Waterloo values diversity and equal opportunity, maintaining a respectful workplace that does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
The Banquet Server role at New Waterloo is designed for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality services in vibrant event settings. This position involves supporting the successful execution of banquets and special events by ensuring that all guests receive professional, courteous, and attentive service. Banquet Servers work closely with banquet managers, kitchen staff, and other team members to verify event details and ensure that banquet spaces are properly set up according to BEOs (Banquet Event Orders). Responsibilities include assisting with event preparation such as table and buffet setups, greeting guests with a genuine welcome, preparing and serving beverages, and monitoring guests’ needs including verifying identification for alcohol service.
Banquet Servers play a critical role in maintaining communication with kitchen staff to address special requests promptly, ensuring food quality and presentation are up to standard, and providing personalized attention to guests including accommodating allergies and dietary restrictions. The role requires diligent cleanup after events, including resetting tables, returning equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the event area. Additionally, servers must respond quickly and effectively to guest comments and concerns, escalating issues to supervisors and applying corrective actions when necessary. Effective communication across departments is essential, with team members expected to use email, logbooks, and meetings to coordinate and fulfill outlet needs.
This position is ideal for those with at least six months of related hospitality or service industry experience, a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, and the ability to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems. Candidates will also have relevant state-issued food handling and beverage certifications. The company offers competitive wages and benefits for full-time employees, including up to three weeks of paid time off annually, significant discounts at New Waterloo establishments, comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage, 401K matching, paid holidays, volunteer pay, tuition reimbursement, referral bonuses, and discounts at local partner businesses.
Joining New Waterloo means becoming part of a company that celebrates diversity, encourages professional growth, and prioritizes community engagement. Whether preparing for a large banquet or contributing to everyday restaurant operations, Banquet Servers at New Waterloo are integral to creating memorable guest experiences that resonate with the company’s mission of fostering social impact and community empowerment.
