Job Description

Our company is a premier event catering and hospitality service provider specializing in delivering exceptional service for a wide range of events, from elegant banquets to casual outdoor gatherings. Serving a diverse clientele, we operate in various venues, including banquet halls, parks, and other event spaces, emphasizing attention to detail, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.

We are seeking gracious and professional Event Servers with catering and/or restaurant experience to join our team. This role primarily involves front-of-house responsibilities such as greeting guests, setting up event spaces, serving menu items, and assisting with event breakdown. As an Event Server, you will be expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism while managing various duties from receiving guests to executing special event requests. You will be working closely with the Service Manager and other team members to ensure that each event runs smoothly from start to finish.

Event Servers must be outgoing, personable, and able to manage stress effectively in dynamic environments. The position requires punctuality, a professional appearance, and excellent communication skills. You will be trained in multiple service styles including banquet, cocktail parties, and plated dinners, enabling you to adapt to diverse event requirements. Additionally, Event Servers will have responsibilities such as assisting with the loading and unloading of company vehicles, confirming table guest counts, and managing coat check duties when needed.

Event Servers are expected to have knowledge of industry terminology, food and beverage handling practices, and allergy awareness. The role is both physically and mentally engaging, requiring the ability to lift over 50 pounds and handle high-pressure situations gracefully. This position is contingent on placement, and employment includes working nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of the event industry. We require our Event Servers to maintain prescribed uniforms and certifications, including Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and Food Safe certifications. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1+ years of work experience in an upmarket or high-volume restaurant or event catering
  • ability to lift 50lb plus
  • maintain RBS certification and Food Serve Safe Certification
  • ability to read and understand English
  • must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • provide, wear and maintain the prescribed uniform
  • excellent communication and memorization skills
  • ability to handle high stress situations with grace

Job Qualifications

  • comfortable or willing to learn many types of service including French, Russian, Sequenced, Family Style, and Traditional Restaurant/Banquet

Job Duties

  • Clock in and out via Nowsta App
  • consult with the Service Manager upon arrival to review roles, responsibilities, and event specifics
  • assist with loading/unloading of company vehicles and event set up and breakdown
  • greet guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • serve alcoholic beverages appropriately
  • answer guest questions about food, beverages, and the company
  • provide the highest level of service in accordance with standards
  • maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • communicate with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • follow event orders and standard operating procedures
  • maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace
  • learn and understand menus, recipes, and dietary restrictions
  • responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling
  • perform duties as assigned by company leadership
  • manage coat check and bussing duties when needed
