The role of Sr. Sales Manager, Venues, is pivotal within Encore and focuses on spearheading the sales activities for assigned customer groups and venues. This leadership position involves directing a sales team, including Sales Managers, to ensure that customers receive comprehensive guidance throughout their event planning and execution process. The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with both customers and key hotel personnel to enhance business partnerships and drive revenue growth. The role demands a strategic approach to sales, where the manager develops advanced technology solutions and tailors event offerings to meet the unique goals and objectives of high-end clientele. Key responsibilities include driving revenue through proactive consultative selling, maximizing upsell and cross-sell opportunities, preparing and presenting persuasive sales presentations, and coordinating with internal departments and external vendors to deliver seamless event experiences. This leader also oversees sales accountability by maintaining an accurate and healthy sales pipeline, supporting forecasting, and assisting in setting sales quotas. Additionally, the Sr. Sales Manager plays a critical role in people development by mentoring and coaching sales team members, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous learning, and facilitating training within the region. This multifaceted position requires a hands-on approach to leadership, excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to balance complex sales strategies within the hospitality and event production industry. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Encore or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual, technology or hospitality preferred
  • Knowledge of sales processes
  • Ability to read and understand financial reports
  • Technical aptitude and proficiency with CRM systems
  • Preferred knowledge of CAD and Oracle
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through consultative sales approach
  • Maximize revenue opportunity for assigned customers by creating strategies for per-event revenue growth
  • Create high-end event and advanced technology solutions for customers
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that convey value and solve customer challenges
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning, and venue meetings to support customer experience
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate profitability guidelines
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and supporting functions
  • Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences
  • Lead sales meetings and facilitate budgeting and forecasting with hotel partners
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and challenges
  • Address and resolve customer complaints effectively
  • Maintain accurate customer information in CRM system
  • Refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets
  • Ensure all opportunities are entered and updated in CRM
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and assist in setting sales quotas
  • Learn and adopt sales SOPs and new company initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of new product offerings and emerging technology
  • Support sales team pipeline management and strategy implementation
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to sales team members
  • Partner with team on large complex events
  • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in regional or national sales committees
  • Facilitate sales skills training at location or region as needed
