The role of Sr. Sales Manager, Venues, is pivotal within Encore's sales team, focusing on leading the sales process for assigned group accounts and directing sales staff to provide exceptional customer event experiences. The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for identifying solutions to meet customer goals, maximizing event and revenue capture, and fostering strong relationships with hotel personnel to strengthen business ties. This position involves managing high-end, large events, utilizing advanced technology solutions, and providing leadership and training support to the sales team. Reporting to the Sales Director or Director of Event Technology, the Sr. Sales Manager also supervises the Sales Manager, ensuring alignment with company business strategies and core values.

Key responsibilities of this role include driving revenue growth through proactive, consultative sales methods, maximizing opportunities by upselling and cross-selling, preparing compelling presentations, collaborating with internal departments and vendors, attending site visits and planning meetings, and maintaining a deep understanding of event cost structures. Relationship management is a vital aspect, with a focus on cultivating world-class service by personalizing customer experiences, addressing client concerns, and ensuring CRM systems are accurate and up-to-date. Accountabilities such as maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, supporting forecasting efforts, learning SOPs, and staying informed about new products and emerging technologies are also central to the position.

People development is fundamentally important in this role, as the Sr. Sales Manager provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, and training to sales team members. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Encore or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual, technology or hospitality preferred
  • Knowledge of sales process and financial reporting
  • Technical aptitude and proficiency in CRM software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work irregular hours
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role including extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Willingness to travel and work in multiple hotel locations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • At least 2 years sales experience
  • Prior experience in audiovisual technology or hospitality preferred

  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency including CRM software

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
  • Maximize revenue opportunity for assigned customers by creating effective strategies for per-event revenue growth including upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Create high-end, large event, advanced technology solutions for existing and potential customers
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that convey the value of the company and solve customer challenges
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors and internal departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning and venue meetings to support the customer event experience
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure CRM accuracy
  • Lead sales meetings, group presentations, budgeting and forecasting with hotel partners
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns
  • Provide direct leadership, training and coaching to sales team members
  • Participate in regional or national committees and facilitate sales team skill development
  • Maintain knowledge of new products, services and emerging event technology
