The role of Event Security Officer is crucial to the safety and security operations within major event venues including Toyota Arena, Stage Red Theater in Fontana, ONT-Field, and Ontario Convention Centers. This position is part-time and non-exempt, offering competitive compensation at $20.00 per hour. The Security Officer reports to the Security Department Manager and is responsible for maintaining continuous 24-hour security coverage during both daily operations and high-capacity events. Duties include conducting regular patrols, responding to safety and security incidents, providing excellent guest services, managing crowd flow, and overseeing access points for staff, vendors, performers, and VIPs.

The job requires the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures. Flexibility to work approximately 80% of monthly events including evenings, weekends, holidays, particularly Friday through Sunday shifts, is essential. The position is dynamic with schedules that vary based on venue needs and event schedules.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain continuous 24-hour security coverage for the interior and exterior of the facility
- Conduct regular patrols to identify safety concerns and support event readiness
- Respond promptly and professionally to all safety and security calls
- Provide guest services including greeting patrons and assisting with directions
- Perform bag checks, operate wands, and monitor metal detectors for guests
- Support crowd management by monitoring ingress/egress and preventing congestion
- Assist with emergency procedures, evacuations, and incident response
- Complete assigned tasks within guidelines and deadlines
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed incident reports
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to departmental standards
