Job Description

The Event Security Manager position at the Milwaukee Bucks is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the administration of event security operations at Fiserv Forum and the Deer District. This role requires a detail-oriented leader who can supervise and coordinate a team of security supervisors and staff, ensuring safety and security standards are strictly adhered to during all events. As an Event Security Manager, you will be tasked with training security personnel, providing performance feedback, and implementing strategic security initiatives that align with the company’s goals and industry best practices. This full-time position reports directly to the Event Security Director and requires exceptional organizational skills to manage scheduling, coordination with emergency services, and collaboration with multiple departments and external agencies.

Additionally, the Event Security Manager acts as a critical liaison between the Milwaukee Bucks organization and local law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency management agencies to ensure a safe environment for all attendees. Responsibilities also include developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), overseeing event staff equipment, handling disciplinary actions, maintaining detailed records of security incidents, and leading credentialing and proxy access processes. The role demands strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external clients, managing security budgets, and responding effectively to emergencies. Candidates for this role should possess a bachelor's degree and have prior experience in a customer care or hospitality-related environment, with added certifications seen as a plus.   • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access and Outlook

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • NCS4, IAVM, ASIS certifications are a plus
  • prior experience working with the public preferably in hospitality or customer care
  • up to date with industry standards and applicable laws
  • ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, on-call and holidays

  • ability to write reports and correspond professionally
  • read, comprehend and edit safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • familiarity with CEIA magnetometers and Rapiscan x ray equipment is a plus
  • understand, operate and train others on magnetometer operations
  • basic knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Excel, Access and Outlook
  • solid understanding of payroll systems
  • experience using ABI scheduling software is a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervise the performance, conduct and attendance of security staff and supervisors assigned to the event security
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security initiatives
  • Build and maintain business relationships with team members and facility partners including local, state, & federal fire & police authorities
  • Schedule medical, police, K9 and other local emergency management departments for all events
  • Interview, hire and train event security staff and supervisors
  • Conduct performance appraisals and handle disciplinary actions as required
  • Develop and conduct security & safety training sessions for event security personnel
  • Complete special projects and assigned tasks within guidelines and deadlines
  • Communicate and plan with the Event Security Director and Event Services Manager for event security expectations
  • Establish facility needs based on Milwaukee Bucks and tenant expectations
  • Lead all aspects of credentials and proxy access for events, ensuring quality of logs and incident reports
  • Assist security management with event staff equipment and track all assigned equipment
  • Maintain records and photos of all incidents involving events
  • Act as a liaison with local law enforcement, client representatives, talent/security teams, and outside agencies
  • Work with Guest Experiences management to ensure coordinated teamwork
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to enhance budgeted results and operating efficiency
  • Assist in administrative documentation including reports, disciplinary notes, logging entries, and budget planning
  • Work closely with Scheduling Department to fulfill security staffing requirements
  • Account for and manage hourly security event staff scheduling and hours
  • Respond to emergencies and deescalate urgent matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned
