The Sales Manager, Venues at Encore plays a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring successful event experiences within assigned venues, typically hotel and convention center environments. This is a dynamic full-time position with a salary range around $70,304 annually, reflecting the importance of the role in the company's revenue generation strategies. The Sales Manager is responsible for guiding customers through the event planning process by identifying and delivering solutions aligned with their goals and objectives. This person actively cultivates relationships with venue personnel and internal teams to maximize event capture and revenue.
The role requires a proactive and consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore's tailored sales process and leveraging technology such as CRM systems and venue booking platforms to manage client interactions effectively. The Sales Manager prepares and presents quotes and proposals, coordinates with vendors and departments, and participates in site visits and planning meetings to represent Encore and support clients. A deep understanding of cost structures and profitability guidelines is essential to design solutions that meet both client expectations and company targets.
Relationship management is emphasized through delivering world-class customer service, researching client histories, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of relevant sales or hospitality experience
- Technology sales or hospitality experience preferred
- Experience in audiovisual sales is advantageous
- Knowledge of hospitality industry sales processes preferred
- Proficient with technical tools and CRM software
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to meet job demands
- Willingness to travel to multiple hotel locations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Encore or related field
- Technology sales or hospitality experience preferred
- Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus
- Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
- Technical aptitude and computer proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
- Effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers
- Effectively collaborate with vendors and other departments/divisions of the company to capture and service events
- Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings to support the customer event experience
- Understand event cost structure and incorporate this into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and supporting functions to deliver world-class service
- Maintain a healthy pipeline ensuring achievement of revenue targets
- Ensure all known opportunities are in CRM and updated at all times
- Support sales forecasting efforts ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Learn and adopt all SOPs and new initiatives/programs
- Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events
