The Sales Manager, Venues role at Encore holds a critical responsibility in guiding customers through impactful event experiences, ensuring they achieve their event goals while driving significant revenue growth. In this position, the candidate will prepare and present event proposals, attend site visits and planning meetings, and maintain an accurate understanding of event cost structures to optimize profitability. The Sales Manager must be proficient in using the company's CRM system to maintain up-to-date customer information and ensure sales opportunities are accurately tracked. Additionally, this role supports company initiatives, strategies, and core values such as delivering world-class service, driving results, and valuing people. The position reports directly to a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology.

The role requires an individual with a blend of sales acumen, technical aptitude, and hospitality knowledge to navigate the dynamic environment of event venue sales. The candidate will be expected to engage deeply with client needs, anticipate challenges, and propose innovative audio visual and event technology solutions that enhance the overall event experience. Working conditions include exposure to varying noise levels, outdoor elements, and the use of specialized AV equipment. The role also demands flexibility in work hours, including potential evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer needs in multiple hotel locations.

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant sales or experience in event technology or hospitality
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with CRM software and sales tools
  • Willingness to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet physical job demands such as sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting
  • Ability to travel to multiple hotel locations
  • Adherence to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of Encore or related experience
  • Preferred technology sales or hospitality experience
  • Prior audiovisual sales experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
  • Effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support the customer event experience
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs according to profitability guidelines
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore departments
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure all opportunities are accurately updated in CRM
