The Sales Manager, Venues role is a dynamic position within Encore, responsible for guiding customers through the comprehensive event experience by identifying tailored solutions that align with their goals and objectives. This position demands a consultative and proactive sales approach to maximize event opportunities and revenue generation from an assigned customer base. As a Sales Manager, you will work closely with hotel personnel and internal Encore teams to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of event services at various hotel venues. The role involves preparing and presenting competitive quotes and proposals, attending venue meetings, site visits, and pre-conference planning sessions, and maintaining a detailed understanding of event cost structures for profitable solution design.

Additionally, the Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in building and sustaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders by delivering world-class service characterized by thorough customer history research, personalizing experiences, and responsiveness to client needs. You will actively utilize the Encore CRM system to maintain accurate and up-to-date customer data while leveraging the broader Encore network to identify and secure additional sales opportunities. This position requires maintaining a healthy sales pipeline aligned with revenue targets, supporting accurate sales forecasting, and keeping up with new product offerings and technologies that support meetings and events.

The Sales Manager role operates in a dynamic hotel/convention center environment, often working irregular hours that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties. Team members should prepare for a range of working conditions including exposure to various noise levels and outdoor elements such as dirt and dust. Physical demands include periods of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting or carrying of moderate weight. Employees must meet defined appearance standards representing Encore and its partner venues.

The salary range for this role is $46,270.00 to $60,151.00, with compensation reflecting factors like location, experience, skills, and travel requirements. Additional financial incentives such as overtime, bonuses, or commissions may also be applicable. Job Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Encore or equivalent experience
  • Preferably 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to attend site visits and customer meetings
  • Compliance with appearance guidelines
  • Willingness to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience at Encore or in a similar role
  • Preferred 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is an advantage
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
  • Effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate profit guidelines into solution design
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore departments
  • Maintain an accurate and updated customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Actively refer and guide customers through the Encore network
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure revenue targets are met
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and submit accurate reports
  • Learn and adopt all standard operating procedures and new initiatives
  • Stay updated on new products, service offerings, and emerging event technologies
