The Sales Manager, Venues role at Encore is a pivotal position dedicated to driving revenue and enhancing customer satisfaction within assigned venues. This position involves guiding customers through the event planning process, tailoring solutions to meet their specific objectives, and ensuring a compelling event experience. The Sales Manager is responsible for leveraging Encore’s proprietary sales processes and resources to maximize event and revenue capture. Central to the role is cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with venue personnel and customers, which enhances business opportunities and collaborative success. Reporting directly to a Sr. Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology, the Sales Manager is expected to uphold Company initiatives, business strategies, and Core Values, ensuring each client engagement reflects Encore’s commitment to world-class service.

In this role, candidates will engage in proactive, consultative sales approaches aimed at securing business and managing a healthy pipeline of sales opportunities. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting timely quotes and proposals, collaborating with vendors and internal departments to service events, and participating in site visits and planning meetings to support customer events. Additionally, the Sales Manager must have a thorough understanding of event cost structures to design profitable solutions according to set guidelines. Relationship management is a cornerstone of the role, which demands researching customer history to personalize interactions, attending customer meetings to understand their goals, and maintaining accurate data in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM). Sales accountability is emphasized through consistent pipeline maintenance, accurate forecasting, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and new initiatives.

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for those who have technology sales or hospitality experience, particularly within audiovisual sales. Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and knowledge of hospitality industry sales processes are essential for success. In addition to formal qualifications, personal competencies such as delivering world-class service, taking ownership, demonstrating self-awareness, ensuring accountability, managing complexity, and collaborating effectively align with the company’s Core Values.

The role requires flexibility in work hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call status. This position offers a salary range of $38,558 to $50,126, calibrated based on location, experience, and specific skills. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • at least 1 year of sales experience preferably in technology or hospitality
  • ability to prepare detailed sales quotes and proposals
  • capacity to collaborate across departments and with vendors
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • proficiency with Customer Relationship Management systems
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate sales pipeline
  • availability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Encore or equivalent sales roles
  • technology sales experience preferred
  • hospitality experience preferred
  • prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus
  • knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach utilizing Encore's sales process and methodology
  • prepare and present quotes and proposals to customers in a timely manner
  • collaborate effectively with vendors and other departments to capture and service events
  • attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and necessary venue meetings to support customer event experience
  • understand event cost structure and incorporate this into solution designs according to profitability guidelines
  • cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore supporting functions
  • maintain a healthy sales pipeline ensuring achievement of revenue targets
  • ensure all known sales opportunities are accurately entered and updated in the Customer Relationship Management system
  • support sales forecasting efforts ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • learn and adopt all Standard Operating Procedures and new initiatives
  • maintain knowledge of new product and service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events
