The role of Sales Manager, Venues, is a vital position within Encore, focused on driving revenue and ensuring outstanding event experiences for customers. This full-time role reports to senior sales leadership and involves managing relationships with both clients and hotel staff to maximize event bookings and revenue capture from assigned customers. The Sales Manager plays a key role in the consultative sales process by preparing and presenting proposals, collaborating with vendors and internal teams, and attending site visits and planning meetings. This ensures that each event is designed with profitability considerations and aligned with client goals. Excellence in customer relationship management is central to this role, requiring thorough knowledge of client histories and proactive communication to deliver personalized service. Sales accountability is also critical, with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy pipeline, accurate CRM data, and supporting forecasting efforts. The Sales Manager is expected to stay current on new products and emerging meeting technology, contributing to continuous improvement and client satisfaction. This position is based in a hotel or convention center environment and involves some physical activity such as walking, standing, and occasionally lifting moderate weights. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience required
  • Experience in technology sales or hospitality preferred
  • Prior audiovisual sales experience a plus
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required
  • Strong communication skills necessary
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to meet job demands including standing, walking, and occasional lifting
  • Must be able to work in a hotel and convention center environment
  • Must adhere to appearance guidelines set by the company

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales, preferably in technology sales or hospitality
  • Prior audiovisual sales experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with customers

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach
  • Effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers
  • Collaborate with vendors and other company departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support the customer event experience
  • Understand event cost structures and incorporate profitability guidelines into solution designs
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore support functions
  • Maintain accurate customer information and opportunities in the CRM system
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and adopt all relevant SOPs
  • Stay informed on new products, services, and technology relevant to meetings and events
