The Sales Manager, Venues position is an exciting role responsible for guiding customers through the event experience journey and identifying tailored solutions that meet their specific goals and objectives. This role demands a proactive, consultative sales approach that leverages Encore’s sales process and methodology to maximize event and revenue capture from an assigned customer base. The Sales Manager acts as a key liaison between customers and hotel personnel to enhance business relationships and ensure a seamless event experience. This position requires collaboration with various departments and vendors, thorough knowledge of event cost structures, and maintaining accurate customer data within the CRM system. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving revenue generation, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and contributing to company initiatives and core values.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $38,558 to $50,126, with potential for additional compensation through bonuses and incentives. Working in a hotel or convention center environment, the Sales Manager must be adaptable to irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and must be able to travel among multiple locations. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees will utilize state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and work in varied conditions ranging from quiet to noisy settings. Job Requirements
- bs/ba degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 1 year of relevant sales experience
- proficiency in technology and computer systems
- excellent communication skills
- ability to maintain accurate records in CRM
- willingness to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to meet demands such as sitting for up to 5 hours, standing and walking for 2-3 hours, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- ability to travel between multiple hotel or venue locations
Job Qualifications
- bs/ba or equivalent experience
- minimum 1 year of Encore or related industry experience
- technology sales or hospitality experience preferred
- prior audiovisual sales experience is a plus
- knowledge of hospitality industry sales processes preferred
- technical aptitude and computer proficiency
- strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive consultative sales approach
- effectively prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner
- collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events
- attend site visits, pre-conference planning, and venue meetings to support customer events
- understand event cost structure and design solutions per profitability guidelines
- cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and internal teams
- thoroughly research customer history to personalize experiences
- attend customer meetings to understand goals and respond to inquiries
- ensure accurate and up-to-date customer information in CRM
- refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities
- maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet revenue targets
- update all known opportunities in CRM accurately and timely
- support sales forecasting efforts ensuring accuracy
- learn and adopt new SOPs and company initiatives
- maintain knowledge of new products, services, and emerging technologies related to meetings and events
