The Event Sales Manager role at Jack Stack BBQ is a key position responsible for managing the contracting and payment processes for both full-service and delivery events. This role requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, capable of building strong client relationships to support sales growth and event execution excellence. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Event Sales Manager will efficiently handle event contracts using industry software such as Caterease and Caterzen, ensuring all aspects of event planning—from equipment and linens to food and other essentials—are accurately contracted and charged.
This position demands proactive communication with guests and coordination with the service team to deliver flawless event execution. The Event Sales Manager will take on a leadership role in directing the service team during full-service events and fostering positive relationships with guests, event spaces, and venues. They must maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction and overall experience, ensuring that all prep sheets, pull sheets, and event instructions are communicated clearly and accurately. The role involves multitasking with speed and precision, requiring the ability to make swift decisions under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Jack Stack BBQ prefers candidates with at least two years of catering sales experience and requires ServSafe certification to ensure food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate should demonstrate good communication skills, basic accounting and computer proficiency, and the ability to prioritize and organize work effectively. Physical stamina is necessary since the role requires standing or walking for the entire shift and lifting up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- ServeSafe certification
- Minimum two years of catering sales experience recommended
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
- Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative
- Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance and convey self-confidence
- No felony conviction within the last seven years
- No DUI/DWI conviction
- Ability to multi-task and quickly think on feet
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Good communication skills
- Able to stand or walk constantly during entire shift
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, lift, push and pull materials throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of catering sales experience recommended
- Possess ServSafe certification

Job Duties
- Contract events through Caterease and Caterzen efficiently and effectively to meet service, pricing, and execution standards
- Ensure all equipment, linen, food, and other necessary items are contracted and charged correctly
- Respond and coordinate with guests in a timely manner
- Lead and direct the service team to execute full-service events
- Foster and maintain guest, event space, and venue relationships
- Communicate and ensure accuracy for all prep sheets, pull sheets, and event instructions
- Ensure guest satisfaction and overall experience
