Job Description
Five Iron Golf is Syracuse's premier golf and entertainment experience, offering a unique venue that combines the excitement of golf, food, sports, and entertainment. Located in the heart of downtown Syracuse, the establishment features state-of-the-art Trackman Golf Simulators, Duckpin Bowling lanes, a Multi Sport simulator, and a lively sports bar atmosphere. The overall mission of Five Iron Golf is to build community through shared memorable experiences centered around competition and fun. This vibrant destination is ideal for individuals looking to engage in social sports activities or to host group events in a dynamic and entertaining environment.
The role of Event Sales Manager at Five Iron Golf is a critical position responsible for driving the venue's event revenue by managing and selling a variety of events to different client groups. This full-time position is ideal for a motivated and experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced and high-energy setting, with a keen passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Event Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in contributing to the venue's overall sales revenue goals by proactively identifying new business opportunities and increasing the brand's visibility within the community and industry.
Key responsibilities include building and executing quarterly sales plans designed to attract new clients through direct in-person visits, email outreach, warm calling, and on-site client engagement. The manager will oversee all aspects of event management for small to large-scale gatherings, ensuring the seamless execution of every event. This includes conducting weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, overseeing communication with the operations and culinary teams to accommodate any specific event requests or changes, and maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and brand consistency.
The Event Sales Manager will also actively participate in relevant industry and community events to stay informed about evolving trends and network effectively. Building long-term client relationships is essential to fostering repeat business and generating referrals. The manager will work closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager on-site to guarantee best-in-class event execution, ensuring that every detail from booking to event completion meets professional standards.
Utilizing the Tripleseat sales system, the Event Sales Manager will be required to create, manage, and confirm event bookings, documenting all client communications efficiently. The role demands a detail-oriented professional who can manage leads promptly following company standards for lead response times, and leverage established reports and dashboards to track and surpass Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The manager’s communication skills must excel across various channels, including over the phone, by email, and in person, to deliver an unparalleled guest experience.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual with at least two years of sales experience in hospitality, events, or the entertainment industry to grow their career in a highly supportive and professional environment. The position requires availability to work during nights and weekends to meet client needs and event schedules effectively. The compensation for this role includes a base salary plus commission, rewarding performance and providing opportunities for professional growth. Five Iron Golf offers a stimulating work environment, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to be part of an innovative team dedicated to delivering fun, memorable experiences.
