The role of Sales Coordinator at Encore is an essential position within the Event Technology team, primarily dedicated to facilitating sales and coordination for events, particularly focusing on those with revenue under $5,000. This position is responsible for supporting the sales efforts by managing equipment and service sales for a range of event sizes. A key part of the Sales Coordinator’s duties involves completing sales order entries accurately and promptly along with other related sales administration tasks. The role also includes providing general support in sales operations such as opportunity management, lead distribution, customer follow-up, and maintaining current and accurate information within the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Director of Customer Support, the Sales Coordinator is integral in ensuring that smaller events such as banquet orders, exhibitors, affiliate businesses, and co-located events are successfully sold and managed from initial inquiry through order completion. The position requires interacting with customers using various channels including phone, online chat, and email to address their requests and facilitate sales. By leveraging Encore’s specialized tools, technology, and resources, the Sales Coordinator aims to maximize revenue and follow the company’s profit guidelines for all assigned business.

This job demands strong communication skills as well as a technical aptitude, with an emphasis on responsiveness and professionalism. Candidates must be capable of efficiently handling leads, directing appropriate sales channels such as the company’s EventNow eCommerce platform, and collaborating closely with venue leadership teams to ensure smooth information exchange. The Sales Coordinator role operates within a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced office environment, with working hours that can be irregular and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties. The compensation for this role ranges from $17.21 to $22.37 per hour depending on experience, location, and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • One or more years of sales or event experience
  • Prior experience in technology, sales, hospitality, or event planning preferred
  • Technical aptitude with computer software and programs
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and be on-call
  • Ability to adhere to professional appearance guidelines
  • Capability to handle multiple communication channels including phone, chat, and email
  • Comfortable working in a moderately quiet to noisy office environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • BS or BA is preferred or 1 plus years of sales or event experience
  • Prior technology, sales, hospitality, or event planning experience a plus
  • Technical aptitude and proficiency with computer software and programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills needed to effectively solicit and close business via phone or email

Job Duties

  • Lead import and distribution for venue complexes researching as needed to determine correct ownership of lead
  • Directly sell smaller events such as banquet event order bookings, exhibitors, affiliate business, and in-conjunction-with events
  • Direct qualified leads to EventNow eCommerce platform as a buying channel for Encore customers
  • Close business by obtaining commitment to buy while maximizing revenue and adhering to event profit guidelines for all assigned business
  • Handle customers requests by phone, online chat, email, and other channels
  • Follow up with internal and external customers through confirmed order hand-offs
  • Effectively use Encore tools, technology, systems and resources to promptly respond to customer requests
  • Ensure CRM is always accurate and up to date
  • Facilitate strong information exchange with aligned venue leadership teams
