The Event Sales & Design Lead role based in Denver, Colorado, offers a unique opportunity to join this dynamic and creative team. This position combines elements of strategic business development, creative event design, and project execution, with a focus on translating client visions into memorable event experiences. Starting with a base salary of $80,000 for the first six months, the compensation transitions to $53,000 base plus commission thereafter, alongside a yearly bonus opportunity, car allowance, and phone stipend. The Event Sales & Design Lead acts as a client-facing ambassador, cultivating new business opportunities through referrals, outreach, and marketing while collaborating closely with the Creative Director.
Responsibilities extend to creating original client proposals, including decor, furniture layout, tabletop styling, and floral direction in partnership with the in-house floral team. The role requires managing client communications, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the logistical details to ensure seamless execution. The professional will attend event installations and provide on-site leadership to guarantee design integrity and a successful event experience. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, the Event Sales & Design Lead continuously contributes to creative brainstorming and stays abreast of industry trends and innovations. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in event sales or event design
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in design and event management software such as Canva and AllSeated
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including event days and evenings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Job Qualifications
- 3-5+ years experience in event sales, event design, or a related hospitality field
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate concepts into executable plans
- Proven ability to generate and close new business
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Job Duties
- Cultivate new business through referrals, outbound outreach, and marketing initiatives to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Plan and execute individual sales strategies, promotions, and business development efforts in partnership with Creative Director
- Build and maintain relationships with planners, venues, and key industry partners
- Create original client proposals including decor and furniture layouts, tabletop styling, and floral direction
- Lead client communication from initial inquiry through event execution
- Negotiate contracts and secure signed agreements, deposits, and final event details
- Attend event installations and provide on-site direction to ensure design integrity and successful execution
