The Event Sales and Catering Manager role is a key position within the Guest Services team, responsible for driving sales and managing events within the hotel property. This full-time position offers an annual salary of $50,000 and focuses on developing new business opportunities through proactive sales efforts and maintaining existing client relationships. The manager oversees the booking, selling, planning, and execution of group room blocks, banquets, and special events, balancing client needs with the property’s operational standards. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills, an ability to lead a team, and a strong commitment to customer service. The Event Sales and Catering Manager acts as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless coordination from the initial sale through event completion. This position involves close collaboration with various departments, including Food and Beverage, Reservations, Guest Services, and Marketing, to optimize revenue and deliver outstanding event experiences. It also entails managing sales strategies in alignment with budget and marketing objectives, targeted appointment-based sales outreach, and compliance with the company’s policies and brand standards. Physical demands include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, occasional lifting, frequent travel, and clear communication in English. With a focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and client relationship management, this role is essential to maintaining the property’s high standards of guest service and operational excellence.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience in related management
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary contact for all booked events, managing execution from initial sale through completion
  • Oversee and direct the event coordinator, banquet setup, and day-of service staff
  • Coordinate and manage room and catering sales efforts to meet departmental goals
  • Conduct targeted, appointment-based sales outreach to drive direct business
  • Meet or exceed budgeted revenue targets on a month-over-month basis
  • Grow and maintain key accounts, identifying opportunities to increase revenue
  • Build strong client relationships through consistent, professional communication
