This part-time, year-round position supports the Youth & Family Activities Coordinator and the Director of Catering and Special Events in creating and executing youth and family-centered events. Responsibilities encompass assisting with event registration, vendor communication, event preparation, setup, teardown, and contributing creative ideas for programs such as birthday parties. This role demands a strong emphasis on member service, ensuring that every interaction and event surpasses expectations while upholding the club’s standards and culture. The Youth Activities Event Assistant helps to maintain the exceptional atmosphere the DAC is known for by promoting facilities and services and providing exceptional hospitality to members and guests. This position requires adaptability, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform duties in moderately variable environmental conditions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience in hospitality or youth event coordination preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, education, physical education, child development, or related field strongly preferred
  • Experience in event planning, customer service, childcare, athletic or year-round camps, recreation, or other youth-related fields preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience in upscale club or hospitality industry preferred
  • Educational background in child development or recreation management preferred
  • American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while providing excellent member service
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, their children, and Club staff
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to act with efficiency and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment while remaining flexible and proactive
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for Club ambiance, history, culture, and membership expectations
  • Fluency in English

Job Duties

  • Assist with the set-up for all youth and family events, including vendor load-in, centerpieces, favors, event check-in, and tear-down after the event
  • Assist with generating creative ideas for year-round youth and family programs, including birthday parties
  • Meet and greet members and their families/guests
  • Promote facilities and services and answer family and youth-related programming inquiries
  • Welcome feedback, including complaints, and work with the Youth & Family Activities Coordinator to remedy any issue
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with Club rules and policies
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required or assigned by Youth & Family Activities Coordinator and other management
