Job Description
Groovin' Gourmets is the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, a Richmond-based hospitality group serving the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. Our organization specializes in delivering fresh, chef-crafted meals and seamless service for corporate functions, weddings, and social events of all sizes. Over the years, Groovin' Gourmets has become synonymous with quality, reliability, and outstanding customer service within the catering industry. Our commitment to quality extends beyond the food; we strongly believe that our success begins with our people. We strive to cultivate a culture of inclusion, support, and positivity where every individual's contributions are acknowledged and valued.
Groovin' Gourmets embodies the core values of Trolley Hospitality, including no excuses, doing the right thing, a can-do attitude, continual growth, a 'help first-be the solution' mindset, and transparency and honesty without any pretense. These principles guide every team member and drive our mission to deliver happiness not just to our clients but also to our community and within our internal team. Our established reputation for reliability and excellence makes us a leader in the region's hospitality sector, helping clients create memorable, worry-free events.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Event Producer to join our team. This full-time position offers a starting salary of $45,000, with potential earnings up to $60,000 through incentives, making it an attractive opportunity for hospitality professionals eager to advance their career in catering and event planning. The Event Producer will work closely with the Event Sales Coordinator to guide clients through the event planning process and ensure every event detail is executed flawlessly. This role requires exceptional communication skills to walk clients through event timing, ceremony details, rain plans, and rental choices, ensuring their vision is realized to perfection.
As an Event Producer, you will also be actively involved during venue walk-throughs, creating detailed pack lists, scheduling rentals for necessary supplies, composing instruction manuals for event staff, and distributing comprehensive event packets. On event days, you will serve as the on-site manager, overseeing logistics from setup through dinner service. This role typically involves working 25-30 weekends annually, particularly during peak event seasons. We seek someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys orchestrating behind-the-scenes logistics, and has a passion for organized workflow that allows events to run smoothly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will bring more than two years of hospitality experience, preferably with a background in catering or event planning, along with exceptional customer service capabilities and fine-tuned organizational skills. Proficiency with computer technology and experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus, as is familiarity with event management tools like AllSeated or Total Party Planner (TPP).
Joining Groovin' Gourmets means becoming part of a company dedicated not only to client satisfaction but also to employee well-being. We offer paid holidays and paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching after one year, company-paid life insurance and short-term disability coverage, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free staff lunch on weekdays, and employee discounts across all Trolley Hospitality brands. If you are currently in roles such as administrative assistant, night auditor, logistics specialist, office manager, banquet coordinator, concierge, executive assistant, operations coordinator, or project assistant and are looking for a meaningful career shift, we strongly encourage you to apply today and join a team that truly cares about your career development.
