Within LMU, the School of Film & Television (SFTV) ranks among the top film schools nationwide, renowned for its innovative curriculum, expert faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities that prepare students to excel in the competitive entertainment industry. SFTV boasts a world-class faculty comprised of award-winning professionals, alongside a community of world-renowned alumni who have made significant contributions to film, television, and media. The school provides students with both creative and business education necessary for thriving careers in the entertainment field, set against the backdrop of Los Angeles’ vibrant industry ecosystem. Opportunities to engage with industry leaders and participate in high-profile events are a cornerstone of the student experience at SFTV, making it a highly sought-after destination for aspiring filmmakers, producers, and content creators.
The Event Producer position within LMU's SFTV offers a dynamic and highly visible role, ideal for a seasoned professional adept at planning and executing a wide range of prestigious events. Reporting to the Dean of SFTV or their designate, the Event Producer is responsible for orchestrating diverse high-profile activities that augment the educational journey of students by bridging academic insight with real-world industry interaction. This includes managing A-list speaker series, large-scale film festivals and conferences, career development workshops, visiting artist sessions, awards ceremonies, film screenings, panels, orientations, and significant celebratory occasions such as anniversary milestones. Additionally, this role organizes faculty and staff events, including retreats and specialized workshops, ensuring comprehensive support across the school’s community.
In this role, the Event Producer serves as the principal liaison and floor manager for all events, ensuring seamless logistics for both in-person and virtual platforms. They will lead collaborations with various SFTV administrative bodies and faculty to develop an annual calendar of events, coordinate approvals and resource allocation, and maintain rigorous documentation and evaluation processes. A significant portion of the job involves managing teams of internal and external staff, overseeing technological frameworks for hybrid event delivery, and partnering closely with in-house production crews to guarantee professional-grade audiovisual output. Furthermore, the Event Producer acts as a strategic planner who navigates potential scheduling conflicts and harmonizes the school’s engagements with broader university initiatives. Candidates must exhibit strong fiscal responsibility by managing budgets, vendor negotiations, and compliance with university policies, including safety and ADA requirements.
This full-time staff position offers a competitive salary range of approximately $70,000 to $100,000 annually, with compensation commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. Loyola Marymount University embraces diversity and upholds a respectful working environment that prioritizes customer service, ethical conduct, and responsibility in line with its Catholic educational mission. The ideal candidate for the Event Producer position will be a highly organized, communicative, and adaptable leader, comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed, and proficient with current event technologies and marketing software. Joining LMU’s SFTV as an Event Producer means contributing significantly to a vibrant academic culture dedicated to shaping the next generation of film and television professionals in one of the world’s premier locations for media arts.
