Embedded within this dynamic organization is the Los Angeles Equestrian Center (LAEC), a unique 75-acre facility located in the heart of Griffith Park. LAEC is dedicated to serving the equestrian community by providing comprehensive boarding services, training arenas, and hosting an array of events ranging from local horse competitions to prestigious international showcases. LAEC also serves as a versatile venue for special events that blend natural beauty with the vibrant cultural fabric of Los Angeles, offering a distinct and welcoming environment for diverse audiences and participants.

The position of Event Porter at Legends Global is a critical role based within the LAEC venue, focused on maintaining cleanliness and the overall presentation of event spaces before, during, and after events. This role primarily revolves around effective waste management tasks, such as monitoring trash and recycling stations, replacing liners, transporting waste to designated areas, and generally supporting the setup and breakdown of events. The Event Porter ensures that event spaces remain functional, visually appealing, and safe for all guests and personnel. Ideal candidates will demonstrate dependability, a keen awareness of safety protocols, and be physically capable of handling demanding labor in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The employment is non-exempt with a competitive base pay rate of $26 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks
  • Experience in a similar role preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to comply with safety policies and procedures
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively
  • Dependable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in event operations, custodial services, facilities, janitorial services, or related work preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required by event schedules
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Job Duties

  • Monitor trash and recycling receptacles throughout the venue during events
  • Remove, transport, and dispose of full trash and recycling bags in designated collection areas
  • Replace liners and ensure receptacles remain clean, presentable, and functional
  • Move, position, and service trash cans and waste stations as needed throughout the property
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving equipment, tables, chairs, barricades, and other event materials
  • Patrol event spaces to identify and address cleanliness concerns
  • Respond promptly to spills, overflow situations, and guest-facing cleanliness issues
