The Event Planning Manager role at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a vital professional position responsible for managing the planning and execution of mid-size to large, complex events. This includes meetings, conferences, galas, and trade shows involving groups starting at 250 rooms and beyond. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, this role encompasses the full event lifecycle—from initial client contact and menu planning to floor plan creation, on-site coordination, and post-event wrap-up. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, be forward-thinking, and anticipate opportunities to enhance the event experience. Collaborating closely with Event Sales, Operations, and Culinary teams, the Event Planning Manager ensures seamless service delivery and elevates the guest experience at every touchpoint.
Additionally, this position requires maintaining detailed event orders and clear communications with internal staff while managing logistical considerations like audio/visual needs, room setups, food and beverage requirements, timelines, and billing. Establishing strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals is also key. The role offers hybrid work opportunities discussed during recruitment, underscoring Hyatt’s flexible approach to balancing workplace needs.
Salaries for this position range from $60,100 to $73,600, with actual pay commensurate with experience. Hyatt offers an inclusive, diverse work environment where associates are empowered to bring their authentic selves, fostering a culture of warmth, empathy, and respect. Employees at Hyatt benefit from opportunities for career growth, continuous learning, and a supportive company culture underpinned by the company’s guiding principle, "Care Connects Us."
