With over 1,258 guest rooms, including 53 suites, and expansive meeting spaces totaling 13,000 square feet within the hotel, plus nearly 30,000 square feet available in the adjacent conference center, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is perfectly equipped to accommodate a wide range of events and guests. This hotel not only provides spacious accommodations but also luxurious amenities such as the indoor pool, a 24-hour StayFit Gym, and diverse dining options including international cuisine at Third Star, ramen bowls at Sixes & Eights, and a vibrant bar scene at ARC Bar. Its prime location offers direct access to the country’s largest convention center, enhancing its appeal for conferences, trade shows, and large gatherings. The Event Planning Manager position at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a vital role within the hotel’s dynamic events team, responsible for managing and executing a diverse portfolio of mid-size to large, complex group events. This includes corporate meetings, conferences, galas, trade shows, and other special events. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, the Event Planning Manager acts as the primary liaison between clients and hotel teams, ensuring seamless planning from initial event detailing through to post-event follow-up. This role demands expertise in menu planning, agenda development, logistics coordination, and strong communication with various hotel departments including Sales, Operations, and Culinary services. The successful candidate will be forward-thinking, able to anticipate client needs and opportunities, and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals. A critical aspect of this role is the on-site coordination and wrap-up of events, ensuring Hyatt’s high standards of service and brand compliance are upheld throughout. This role services large market events typically starting at 250 room nights and beyond, highlighting the scale and impact of events managed. The position offers a salary range from $60,100 to $73,600, commensurate with experience, and presents hybrid work opportunities discussed during the recruitment phase. Working at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place means joining a global hospitality leader committed to delivering authentic, meaningful experiences for guests and colleagues alike. The company fosters a culture of care, diversity, and inclusion—values that are reflected in their Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For recognition. Employees benefit from a team-driven environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a competitive benefits package. This role is perfect for someone passionate about hospitality, event planning, and delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast-paced, upscale hotel environment.
