The Event Planning Manager position at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a vital role within the hotel’s dynamic events team, responsible for managing and executing a diverse portfolio of mid-size to large, complex group events. This includes corporate meetings, conferences, galas, trade shows, and other special events. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, the Event Planning Manager acts as the primary liaison between clients and hotel teams, ensuring seamless planning from initial event detailing through to post-event follow-up. This role demands expertise in menu planning, agenda development, logistics coordination, and strong communication with various hotel departments including Sales, Operations, and Culinary services. The successful candidate will be forward-thinking, able to anticipate client needs and opportunities, and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals. A critical aspect of this role is the on-site coordination and wrap-up of events, ensuring Hyatt’s high standards of service and brand compliance are upheld throughout. This role services large market events typically starting at 250 room nights and beyond, highlighting the scale and impact of events managed.
