Situated in Houston, Texas, this prestigious establishment is part of the Landry’s family of companies, known for their dedicated commitment to excellence in hospitality and entertainment. The hotel embraces a culture of professionalism, passion, and personalized service, aiming to create authentic and memorable moments for all guests. With a reputation built on strict adherence to quality, attention to detail, and a warm inviting atmosphere, the Post Oak Hotel provides an inspiring workplace for those who seek to advance their careers in luxury hospitality and event management.
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Event Planning Manager to join our elite team. This role is integral to upholding the hotel’s legacy of excellence by managing and coordinating superior meetings, conferences, and special events within our luxurious environment. The Event Planning Manager acts as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations, ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly and in line with our rigorous brand standards. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the entire event lifecycle, from initial consultation and contract review to final billing, maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients and internal teams throughout.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Director and Associate Director of Event Planning to set quarterly goals and develop strategies to grow our business using the hotel’s and Landry’s comprehensive assets. They will be entrusted with creating detailed cost estimates, monitoring budgets, and guaranteeing financial soundness for all programs. Key responsibilities include the preparation and issuance of banquet event orders (BEOs), coordinating with outside vendors, and ensuring smooth operation execution with the events and banquet teams. Client relations and follow-up are finely managed to promote repeat business and positive feedback.
This position demands a high level of organizational skill, creativity in event conceptualization, and excellent communication abilities. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible schedule environment that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, with physical requirements such as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Experience in luxury or Forbes-rated hotels is preferred to uphold our high standards, but the priority lies in passion, excellence, and integrity aligned with our core company values.
As part of the Post Oak Hotel team, you will experience a positive and diverse workplace with many benefits and opportunities for career advancement. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including multiple plans tailored to your needs, paid time off, 401K retirement plans, employee discounts, and more. We encourage team members to engage with the local community through volunteer opportunities and enjoy a supportive environment where respect and collaboration are paramount.
Join us at Post Oak Hotel and be part of an extraordinary hospitality team dedicated to creating remarkable experiences through world-class event planning and service.
