Job Description

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is a prestigious luxury hotel located within the renowned Deer Valley ski resort, just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. As part of an expansive new development, the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is integrated into a vibrant community equipped with 17 ski lifts, 1,600 residential units, eight distinct hotels comprising a total of 1,350 rooms, 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the world’s largest ski beaches. This expansive resort lifestyle offers guests and visitors a unique blend of luxury, convenience, and access to premier outdoor activities in a breathtaking mountain setting. The Event Planning Manager role at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley centers on servicing sales bookings and facilitating smooth event execution. This pivotal position acts as the crucial liaison between meeting planners and the hotel’s internal teams, ensuring all details from meal selections to audiovisual requirements are meticulously managed. Responsibilities include administering and enforcing the sales agreement, managing room blocks and pickup details, outlining precise billing instructions, and conducting final reviews. Event Planning Managers serve as the on-site contacts during events and oversee their flawless delivery, elevating guest and client satisfaction through expert coordination and communication. Job Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and able to handle a fast-paced environment
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience preferred
  • Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program
  • Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Preferably completed Event Management trainee program or have two years of hotel experience
  • PSS or equivalent training preferred
