The Temporary Event Planning Coordinator role at Hyatt is a vital position responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of events within the hotel. The Temporary Event Planning Coordinator also assists with hosting site inspections when needed and may lead or participate in event staff meetings to ensure all logistical details are aligned. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in event coordination or hospitality preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Qualifications
- True desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in general computer knowledge
- Extremely detail oriented and organized
- Two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program preferred
- Completion of PSS preferred
Job Duties
- Service events by coordinating banquet food and beverage and setup
- Collaborate closely with Event Sales Managers in contract negotiations
- Plan menus and set event agendas
- Review contracts and communicate with pertinent hotel staff before, during, and after events
- Assist in hosting site inspections and manage hospitality amenities
- Handle special VIP requests
- Participate in or lead event and staff meetings
