Job Description

MBJ Network is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to curating impactful events and experiences designed to bring communities together through networking, education, and entertainment. Specializing in event planning and production, MBJ Network offers a creative and vibrant environment where professionals and interns alike work collaboratively to deliver memorable and meaningful occasions. Known for its commitment to excellence and fostering professional growth, MBJ Network continuously strives to enhance the quality and reach of its events, aiming to create valuable connections and enrich communities.

This internship opportunity at MBJ Network is designed for motivated and detail-oriented individuals passionate about the event planning industry. As an Event Planner Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in coordinating events from their initial concept to the final execution. You will work closely with industry professionals and a skilled production team, learning how to manage logistics, vendor relations, marketing, attendee engagement, and post-event reporting. This role not only provides exposure to diverse event formats and audiences but also encourages creativity, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a real-world, fast-paced environment.

Throughout the internship, you will assist in various responsibilities including researching and communicating with vendors, venues, and sponsors, supporting marketing efforts like social media promotion and outreach, managing guest lists and registrations, preparing event materials and schedules, and ensuring seamless event execution. Additionally, you will gain experience in overseeing event setup and cleanup while making sure events stay on schedule and meet client expectations. The internship lasts between 3 to 6 months, providing extensive exposure to the event planning life cycle and offering invaluable networking opportunities within the industry.

Though this is a 100% unpaid internship, it offers significant benefits such as letter of recommendation from MBJ Network's executive team or potential employment opportunities upon successful completion of the program. The internship demands flexibility, including availability during evenings and weekends to accommodate event schedules. Ideal candidates are currently pursuing degrees related to event planning, marketing, communications, or hospitality and possess strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms is also important, as is a creative mindset and the ability to solve problems effectively.

In summary, the Event Planner Internship at MBJ Network is an exceptional gateway for individuals aiming to build a career in event planning and management. This role offers a comprehensive learning experience amid a supportive and innovative organizational culture, nurturing young professionals to develop their skills and relationships in the vibrant field of event coordination.
