Job Description

Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services (CFCS) is a well-established organization partnering with Dioceses across the United States in managing and operating their cemeteries. Founded on faith and committed to serving families during their most difficult times, CFCS has been a pillar of support for over 20 years. The company prides itself on cultivating a vibrant community for both its employees and the families it serves, guided by core values of sharing the journey, serving with care, and making it happen. This focus on compassionate service and community support defines the culture and operations of CFCS.

The Family Service Director role at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery & Funeral Center in Hayward, CA, is a meaningful career opportunity for individuals who want to use their event planning and leadership skills in a fast-paced, impactful environment. This position involves guiding families through the funeral planning process with empathy and professionalism, acting as the primary liaison between families, parish staff, vendors, and other CFCS team members. The Family Service Director ensures that all aspects of funeral services are coordinated smoothly and communicated effectively, all while providing comfort and clarity to families during their end-of-life journey.

As a Family Service Director, you will be at the heart of the funeral service operations, responsible for managing funeral cases from start to finish. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic setting. You will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional experience to families by making well-informed arrangements and coordinating various stakeholders involved in the funeral services.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $21 to $23 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Additionally, a structured increase schedule is in place based on years of service and continued education. CFCS supports professional development through a fully sponsored, on-site Funeral Director Licensing program, enabling career growth within the industry.

Beyond a rewarding job, CFCS provides a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance options, retirement benefits, and paid time off, fostering a supportive work environment where employees can thrive. The opportunity to contribute meaningfully while working within a Catholic environment — that welcomes applicants from all backgrounds — makes this role both fulfilling and inclusive. If you are passionate about people, organized, and ready to take on a leadership role in funeral service coordination, this position is an excellent fit.
