Job Description

Argo Group is a renowned underwriter of specialty insurance products within the property and casualty market. As part of the insurance industry, Argo Group offers a full suite of specialized products and services that cater specifically to the diverse and unique coverage and claims-handling needs of businesses across various sectors. The organization functions as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc., bringing a strong legacy and solid backing to its operations. With a commitment to excellence and client-focused service, Argo Group maintains a stellar reputation for delivering innovative insurance solutions and fostering long-term relationships with its customers.

The company culture emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and ownership, making it an attractive workplace for professionals who are passionate about making meaningful contributions. Argo Group prides itself on creating a supportive work environment where open communication and fresh ideas are highly valued, ensuring that every team member has opportunities to grow and succeed.

The current opening is for a dynamic Event Planner role within Argo Group's Shared Services division. This position is perfect for professionals who are enthusiastic about crafting memorable experiences and thrive in a fast-moving, vibrant atmosphere. The Event Planner will have the unique responsibility to bring a wide array of events to life—from intimate happy hours and team-building activities to extensive multiday retreats and international conferences. This role offers an exciting blend of creativity and operational management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both the imaginative planning and the meticulous execution aspects of event coordination.

Located on-site, the Event Planner will manage events independently from inception to completion, particularly smaller and mid-sized events, while collaborating on large-scale annual programs. This includes sourcing venues with potential on-site visits, coordinating with multiple vendors, overseeing travel arrangements, transportation, and activities, managing registration processes, and directly supporting live event execution with authoritative problem-solving capabilities.

Beyond logistics, the role demands strong organizational skills. The planner will develop detailed timelines, task lists, and maintain comprehensive event documentation, along with tracking expenses, managing invoices, and contributing to financial forecasting. They will also play an integral part in improving templates and processes to help the team scale effectively and utilize tools like Salesforce and Pardot for building event communications and workflows. This cross-functional position involves close interaction with departments such as Marketing, Procurement, Legal, Shared Services, and senior leadership, positioning the Event Planner as a trusted partner who keeps all stakeholders informed and aligned.

Argo Group offers competitive salary ranges based on geographic locations, including $70.8k - $85k for Chicago, $77.3k - $90k for New York City, and $64.3k - $85k for Richmond and Omaha. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States as Argo Group does not sponsor employment visas.

This role is particularly rewarding for those who seek growth, impact, and the opportunity to create experiences that are remembered by clients and colleagues alike. The team's supportive nature and the dynamic nature of the work contribute to an engaging and fulfilling career path at Argo Group.
