Job Description

Argo Group is a prominent underwriter specializing in specialty insurance products within the property and casualty market. As part of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc., Argo operates through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, offering a comprehensive range of insurance products and services tailored to meet the unique coverage and claims-handling requirements of diverse businesses. With a robust reputation and a commitment to excellence, Argo Group exemplifies professionalism and innovation in the insurance industry, providing clients with bespoke solutions and trusted partnership.

The Event Planner role at Argo Group represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team within Shared Services. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a passion for creating memorable experiences through event planning. From intimate happy hours to expansive multiday retreats and international programs, the Event Planner will take the lead in designing, organizing, and executing a broad spectrum of events for clients, brokers, internal teams, and senior leadership. The role offers a rare blend of creative independence and operational responsibility, encouraging fresh ideas, strong ownership, and pride in one’s work.

As an integral member of the team, the Event Planner will benefit from a workplace culture that values open communication, mutual support, and continuous innovation. This is a position with significant autonomy, providing visibility and impact across the organization. The planner will be entrusted with managing complete event lifecycles for smaller to mid-sized events and collaborating on key annual programs. Critical responsibilities include sourcing and visiting venues, coordinating with vendors and travel partners, managing registration and attendee communication, and supporting onsite event execution with the authority to resolve issues.

The role also emphasizes organizational efficiency, requiring the development of timelines, task lists, and documentation to ensure seamless event execution. Budget management, invoice processing, and forecasting support are key operational duties, along with refining templates and processes to help scale the team’s capabilities. Leveraging tools such as Salesforce and Pardot, the Event Planner will build event communications and automate workflows, thus enhancing engagement and operational precision.

Collaboration is at the heart of the role, necessitating close partnerships with Marketing, Procurement, Legal, Shared Services, and senior leadership to align efforts and maintain clear communication across departments. The team environment is celebrated for its supportive nature, open dialogues, and a shared commitment to managing workloads effectively even during peak periods. Each year brings new challenges, projects, and product lines, making the work dynamic and full of potential for growth.

This is a 100% on-site role with specific location considerations, including Chicago, New York City, Richmond, and Omaha, with competitive salary ranges from $64.3k to $90k commensurate with experience and geography. The position also includes a generous benefits package encompassing health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as the company currently does not sponsor work visas.

For those looking to make an impactful contribution in a thriving environment where event planning transcends simple logistics to become an art of experience creation, Argo Group’s Event Planner role offers a unique career journey filled with professional growth, meaningful collaboration, and the satisfaction of producing events that leave lasting impressions.
