The Event Planner role is an exciting opportunity within Elevance Health, focused on designing and coordinating events for senior management, marketing, and sales departments. The Event Planner plays a key role in managing logistics, promoting events, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring successful execution and follow-up. They will handle a variety of tasks such as identifying event requirements, recommending proper formats, recruiting speakers and volunteers, assisting in presentation preparations, negotiating contracts with venues and service providers, and serving as onsite host or hostess. The job requires approximately 25-30% travel to various worksites and locations. The successful candidate will also develop and track budgets, collect feedback, and apply lessons learned to enhance future events. Job Duties

  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary 25-30 percent
  • meets with customers to identify parameters of events
  • recommends appropriate format
  • coordinates promotion of event to target audience
  • identifies and recruits presenters, speakers, and event volunteers
  • assists in the preparation of presentations, including developing, writing, editing, and reviewing presentations
  • negotiates with vendors to make event arrangements such as hotels, travel agencies, special venues, and restaurants
  • serves as the onsite host or hostess for client
  • communicates event status
  • conducts follow-up to assess effectiveness of events
  • develops and tracks meeting budgets
  • seeks feedback after events and applies lessons learned to improve future planning and execution
  • builds effective working relationships with internal partners, vendors, presenters, volunteers, and attendees
  • uses sound judgment to identify issues, escalate risks, and recommend practical solutions during event planning and execution
