Job Description

Argo Group is a prominent underwriter of specialty insurance products within the property and casualty market. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc., Argo Group specializes in offering a robust portfolio of insurance solutions designed specifically to meet the unique coverage and claims-handling needs of diverse business clients. With a comprehensive and innovative line of products, Argo dedicates itself to maintaining excellence in underwriting while fostering strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service in the insurance industry.

This role of Event Planner at Argo Group offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about crafting memorable experiences and who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The position involves managing the creative and operational sides of event planning, ranging from intimate gatherings such as happy hours to complex multiday retreats and international programs. As a key member of a collaborative and supportive team, the Event Planner is encouraged to bring fresh ideas, demonstrate strong ownership, and take pride in their work.

In this role, you will work closely with clients, brokers, internal teams, and senior leaders to bring events to life. You will independently manage smaller to midsized events end-to-end, while also partnering with others on the company’s major annual programs. This includes leading all logistics and operational details such as sourcing venues (including onsite visits for major events), coordinating vendors, managing travel partners and transportation, overseeing registration workflows, and ensuring flawless onsite event execution with full authority to resolve any issues that arise.

The Event Planner is also responsible for driving organizational processes by building detailed timelines, task lists, and comprehensive event documentation. Managing expenses, invoices, and supporting financial forecasting ensuring budget adherence is a core part of the responsibilities. The position encourages continuous improvement by creating and refining templates and processes to help scale the team’s impact effectively. Utilizing tools such as Salesforce and Pardot to craft event communications and workflow automation forms an essential part of the role.

This job demands strong cross-functional collaboration as you will liaise regularly with Marketing, Procurement, Legal, Shared Services, and senior leaders, becoming a trusted partner who keeps all stakeholders aligned and informed. The environment at Argo Group promotes open communication and mutual support, ensuring that even in busy seasons, the workload feels manageable and rewarding.

Moreover, this role is entirely onsite, based in Chicago, New York City, Richmond, or Omaha with competitive salaries that reflect experience levels and local labor costs. The base salary ranges from $64.3k to $90k depending on the location. In addition to base pay, employees enjoy a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Argo Group is committed to equal employment opportunities, embracing diversity and prohibiting discrimination on a wide spectrum of protected characteristics. The company encourages applications from candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States and offers reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
