The role of Operations Supervisor at Encore involves leading floor operations with an emphasis on outstanding customer service, staff leadership, and operational effectiveness. The Operations Supervisor is also instrumental in supporting the administrative side of onsite event management, participating in communications with venue management and workforce to optimize event operations.

Reporting to senior management such as the Director of Event Technology (DET), Director of Operations (DOO), or Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor takes charge of organizing floor activities, managing workflow, and providing hands-on leadership and mentoring to technicians. They are responsible for ensuring precise setup and breakdown of equipment, troubleshooting technical issues promptly, and maintaining equipment integrity through preventative maintenance. Furthermore, the role involves actively providing top-tier customer service by liaising with customers to meet their needs, monitoring events, and ensuring that the technical execution aligns with Encore's service standards.

This position requires a skilled leader with expertise in audio-visual technology and event operations, combined with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of audio-visual experience
  • Completion of training and certifications required for the role within 60 days of start
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license where applicable
  • Availability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to work where assigned including multiple hotel locations
  • Compliance with company appearance guidelines
  • Knowledge of safety and security protocols
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, grasping
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights as specified

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of audio-visual experience required
  • Completion of required training and certifications within 60 days for external applicants
  • Completion of Encore's Global Learning Training Program for internal applicants
  • Knowledge of technical theory
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading workflow and teams
  • Valid driver's license for those operating company vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Organizes daily floor activities to ensure timely equipment setup, refresh, and removal
  • Performs daily floor management by directing technical team workflow and assisting management with operational efficiency suggestions
  • Ensures completion and accuracy of flowsheets
  • Coordinates communications for management of events
  • Attends venue meetings such as banquet event orders and pre/post event conferences
  • Provides excellent customer service and upholds Encore's service standards
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients through effective communication
  • Meets onsite guests to ensure equipment and services meet expectations
  • Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout
  • Assists in training technicians on floor activities and operational standards
  • Serves as a mentor guiding new hires on technician career development
  • Models a positive work environment aligned with company values
  • Responsible for accurate setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment
  • Troubleshoots technical issues promptly
  • Ensures equipment security and safety compliance
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Leads the team in equipment security, storage, transportation, and maintenance
  • Participates in physical inventory counts when required
