Job Description
Encore is a globally recognized leader in event services, renowned for delivering exceptional audiovisual and event solutions that elevate experiences across various venues, including hotels and convention centers. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Encore supports a diverse clientele through cutting-edge technology and outstanding customer service. This company thrives on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that empowers employees to grow professionally and personally while contributing to the memorable moments of events worldwide.
The position of Operations Supervisor at Encore is a pivotal role designed to lead and oversee daily floor operations within the technical team, ensuring operational efficiencies and unparalleled customer satisfaction. This leadership role is entrusted with guiding technicians in setting up, refreshing, and breaking down intermediate audiovisual equipment, alongside managing the workflow and ensuring that the venue’s service standards are met or exceeded. Reporting directly to the Director of Event Technology (DET), Director of Operations (DOO), or Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays an essential part in both operational execution and staff development.
An Operations Supervisor’s responsibilities are multifaceted, focusing on several core areas including operations management, customer service, training and development, and technical event support. In operations management, the supervisor coordinates the daily activities of the floor, such as equipment setup and removal, updates and maintains flowsheets, communicates effectively with the team to manage event workflows, and participates in key venue meetings like banquet event order conferences. These tasks require strong organizational and leadership skills to maintain smooth and efficient operational rhythms.
Customer service excellence is at the heart of the role, where the Operations Supervisor acts as a direct contact for clients, ensuring that their needs are met and expectations exceeded through consistent communication and onsite support. Monitoring ongoing events and proactively addressing any concerns solidifies Encore’s reputation for outstanding client relationships and service.
Furthermore, the Operations Supervisor is also deeply involved in training and development, mentoring new hires and assisting technicians in mastering both Encore's operational standards and venue-specific procedures. This developmental focus helps cultivate a positive team atmosphere rooted in the company’s core values, inspiring staff to deliver world-class service and embrace a strong sense of ownership.
Technically, the supervisor is responsible for effective handling of audiovisual equipment, troubleshooting issues swiftly to minimize disruptions, and ensuring the security and maintenance of all gear. This includes performing preventive maintenance, leading the team in correct equipment transportation and storage, and supporting inventory counts as needed.
Physical demands of the role are significant, involving lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, standing and walking for several hours, and occasionally climbing or bending. The work environment varies between hotel and convention center venues or warehousing, often requiring work in varying noise levels and exposure to outdoor elements such as dust and dirt. The position offers an hourly pay range of $18.93 to $24.60, with compensation reflective of qualifications, experience, and location, plus eligibility for overtime, bonuses, and incentives.
Overall, the Operations Supervisor position at Encore is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about event technology, customer service, and leadership. It offers growth potential in a dynamic industry, supported by a company dedicated to inclusivity, career development, and employee benefits. This role is ideal for candidates looking to advance their careers by leading teams to deliver exceptional event experiences while honing valuable technical and managerial skills.
