Job Description
Encore is a leading global provider specializing in event technology with a commitment to delivering exceptional audio-visual services and technical support for events hosted in hotels and convention centers worldwide. The company is recognized for its dedication to innovation, client satisfaction, and operational excellence, operating at high-revenue locations generating more than three million dollars annually. With a strong emphasis on advanced technology and superior customer service, Encore ensures that every event runs seamlessly, offering tailored solutions and professional expertise.
This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of Encore's operational leadership team by managing floor operations aimed at achieving service excellence. Reporting directly to an Operations Director or Director of Event Technology, this role involves overseeing daily workflows, staff leadership, performance management, and development within a dynamic, fast-paced event environment. The salary range for this role is between $44,342 and $57,645 annually, with potential for overtime, bonuses, and other incentives depending on various factors such as location, experience, and special skills.
The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely delivery and proper functioning of all audio-visual equipment and related services while maintaining strict adherence to client specifications and hotel standards. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of supervising and scheduling technician teams, managing inventory control procedures, and maintaining safety, security, and quality assurance standards. Attendance at vital pre-event meetings such as BEO, Pre-Con, and production meetings ensures alignment with event requirements and client expectations.
Customer service is a cornerstone of this role, focusing on building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, vendors, and affiliate properties. The Manager is expected to mentor staff to provide exceptional service, manage client billing and approvals, and oversee onsite guest satisfaction, ensuring all equipment setups meet or exceed expectations. Portraying a professional and polished image consistent with company guidelines is essential, along with fostering a welcoming and positive work environment.
People development and training are key aspects of the position. The Manager will hire, develop, and inspire a skilled team of technicians and support staff while promoting continuous learning and professional growth initiatives. Effective use of company software and participation in human resource functions such as performance reviews and salary administration are required. Ensuring team members receive necessary training and recommending further development opportunities enhances both individual and organizational performance.
The role demands strong leadership competencies including the ability to manage ambiguity, direct work towards achieving goals, exhibit financial acumen, and build cohesive teams. Physical requirements necessitate the ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying various weights, sometimes up to and over 100 pounds, while adhering to safety protocols. Work environments vary from quiet to noisy and include exposure to heights, outdoor temperatures, and potential exposure to dust or dirt.
This leadership role within Encore offers a challenging yet rewarding career path for experienced professionals in audio-visual operations and hospitality, combining technical proficiency, operational management, and customer service excellence to contribute to the company’s ongoing success and reputation for world-class event technology delivery.
