With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, Delaware Park is dedicated to creating memorable occasions for clients and guests alike. This well-established venue prides itself on its meticulous attention to detail and the ability of its team members to perform under high-pressure situations, ensuring smooth event operations from start to finish. Delaware Park offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where creativity, professionalism, and customer service are paramount.\n\nThe role of the Event Manager at Delaware Park is essential in maintaining the high standards the venue is known for. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-of operations for a variety of event types including corporate events, social functions, private parties, conventions, weddings, special events, and trade shows. This position requires proactive leadership and the capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a keen eye for detail, even when working under pressure. You will collaborate closely with the Event Sales Manager to organize and maintain scheduling for all available function spaces. This role also involves fiscal responsibility where you will work to exceed quarterly sales results by managing labor, supply, and rental costs effectively.\n\nIn addition to managing event logistics, the Event Manager will take an active role in client relations by visiting and courting potential clients to increase awareness and utilization of event spaces. Your responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and managing staff while resolving problems and maintaining confidentiality regarding employee concerns. You will coordinate with various internal departments including food and beverage, marketing, housekeeping, security, and audiovisual teams to ensure all client needs and event specifications are met. The role requires strong communication skills to work with clients and internal teams to plan room setups, menu selections, pricing, staffing, and other event-related requirements.\n\nThe Event Manager will also have direct supervision over all event functions, working independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for front-of-house operations including setup, linen management, equipment maintenance, staffing, customer service, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the event lifecycle. Post-event duties include conducting room inspections and closing out events while maintaining accurate records. A solid understanding of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Cater Ease, and C-Vent is essential for effective event and resource management. Delaware Park values honesty, trust, and outstanding guest relations, and expects the Event Manager to embody these principles in all aspects of their work. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
