Job Description
Encore is a prominent event technology company specializing in providing high-quality audio-visual and event production services to hotels, convention centers, and various venues. Known for delivering exceptional in-person and virtual event experiences, Encore supports clients with cutting-edge technology and expert staff to ensure seamless event execution. The company operates globally and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees are valued and supported in their professional growth. Encore emphasizes service excellence, innovation, and a collaborative environment to help clients achieve memorable events.
The position available is a Floor Operations Manager role within Encore’s event technology division, specifically tailored for locations producing more than three million dollars in revenue. This full-time, salaried position offers a competitive pay range between $63,409 and $75,055 annually, with compensation based on experience, location, and skills. The Floor Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily floor operations to achieve service excellence. The role focuses on customer service, staff leadership, performance management, and development. Reporting directly to an Operations Director or Director of Event Technology, the manager plays a crucial part in maintaining workforce and inventory cost control to meet the company’s operational goals.
This leadership role involves managing the workflow of technicians and operational support staff, ensuring that equipment and services are delivered on time and meet client and hotel standards. Key responsibilities include supervising team members through scheduling, timekeeping, and task delegation. Managing billing accuracy and inventory control procedures are essential duties as well, ensuring safety, security, and quality assurance of equipment used in live event environments. The manager actively participates in planning meetings such as BEOs, Pre-Con meetings, and pre-production discussions to align operational execution with event requirements. Customer service is a major component of the role; the manager reviews quotes to provide recommendations that maximize cost efficiencies and supports onsite upselling to boost revenue. They are expected to build excellent working relationships with clients, team members, hotel staff, and vendors, ensuring a polished and professional image is maintained.
Further responsibilities include promoting a positive work environment in line with Encore’s core values, hiring and developing talented technicians, and managing performance and salary administration. The manager drives professional development initiatives, ensuring the team is trained on relevant technology and customer service best practices. The role also requires proficiency in computer systems and software applications to maintain efficient operations. Physically, the job demands the ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift heavy equipment, working in both indoor and outdoor settings with varying noise levels. Team members must comply with Encore’s appearance guidelines and be prepared to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call. Overall, this dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled leader with strong audio-visual knowledge, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering world-class service in a fast-paced event technology environment.
