Job Description
The Bankers Alley Hotel Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a distinguished hotel situated just steps from Broadway's iconic honky-tonks in the vibrant heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. As the only Hilton corporate-managed hotel in the state, our property uniquely blends the rich cultural tapestry of Tennessee's music and historic charm with modern hospitality. This combination offers guests a one-of-a-kind experience that reflects the spirit and energy of Nashville while delivering the high standards and comfort associated with Hilton brands.
We pride ourselves on creating an inviting atmosphere where art and music converge to inspire and delight visitors in a setting that celebrates the city's legendary status. Our premier location gives guests easy access to the dynamic downtown scene, making us a preferred destination for both leisure and business travelers.
We are currently looking to expand our dedicated team by inviting applications for the role of Event Manager. This position comes as a result of a recent promotion and presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to our ongoing success. The Event Manager will be instrumental in planning and executing a wide range of social and group events within our unique and vibrant environment. This role is essential to ensuring that our guests enjoy memorable and seamless experiences, enhancing overall satisfaction and loyalty.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing moderately sized and complex events, typically accommodating up to 300 cumulative room nights. As the liaison between customers and the hotel, the Event Manager directs multiple departments in pre-planning and executing on-site conventions and events. This role requires strong negotiation skills to maximize revenues and control expenses, along with excellent forecasting capabilities. The Event Manager ensures successful event execution and customer satisfaction, pivotal in securing repeat business.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the communication process between clients and internal teams regarding payment structures, room block management, food and beverage arrangements, public room rentals, exhibit hall fees, and other revenue streams. They will analyze customer needs and financial issues, providing proactive solutions that maintain profitability while resolving client concerns within established parameters.
Additionally, the Event Manager represents the hotel in executing negotiated sales agreements, handling pricing negotiations, and managing vendor and partner agreements. They also facilitate site visits, board meetings, menu tastings, and other planning activities essential to delivering exceptional event experiences.
Billing management for assigned events, participation in internal and external meetings, and ongoing training for professional development are integral parts of the job. The role demands flexibility in scheduling based on group activity and requires a collaborative spirit with various hotel departments to achieve common goals.
We seek candidates with a minimum of one year of hotel experience, familiarity with property management systems such as Delphi.fdc, and strong sales or events management expertise. The position offers a supportive environment with numerous benefits aimed at fostering personal and professional growth within Hilton's inclusive culture.
