This opportunity at Denver Milk Market is for a professional event planner with a key focus on handling all aspects of event coordination, including meetings, reunions, social functions, and catering. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who will oversee business coordination starting from the signing of group contracts, ensuring every detail from billing and catering to VIP needs and registration is flawlessly executed. This position demands excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with multiple departments, ensuring that each client’s expectations are exceeded. The event planner will dedicate approximately 75% of their time to event planning responsibilities and 25% to targeting and coordinating catering sales to develop new catering accounts and grow business revenue.

The event planner will play a crucial role in maintaining and building key customer relationships, acquiring new accounts through various networking strategies, and ensuring repeat business with exceptional customer service. This role requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently, maintain organized records, and follow up promptly on all client requests. Sales and marketing skills are vital as direct sales efforts to achieve established departmental goals are a significant component of this role. Candidates must be available to work weekend nights and demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude at all times. This position offers a competitive annual salary between USD $60,000 and USD $65,000 and is a full-time role under the renowned Sage Hospitality Group, specifically at The Maven Hotel’s Milk Market outlet.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year hotel sales or catering experience required
  • Availability to work weekend nights
  • Must have own reliable transportation and valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently
  • Ability to perform 12th grade level mathematics, spelling and reading
  • Effective verbal communication and business writing skills
  • Dexterity and mobility to meet clients on and off premises
  • Ability to tour property and attend functions
  • Ability to climb stairs and operate basic office equipment
  • Vision to read fine print and computer screens

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals as established by management
  • Coordinates all group business as developed by the sales manager and follows up on all signed contract business within 5 working days
  • Determines and coordinates all event planning needs
  • Communicates with various departments to ensure meeting and functions exceed client expectations
  • Targets appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure successful catering direct sales efforts
  • Maximizes current hotel key accounts and develops new accounts for revenue growth
  • Follows up promptly on all customer needs and inquiries
